Vancouver Boudoir and Art Photography | Winter Snow Boudoir

This winter, I was blessed with being able to have not one, but two snow shoots! One was in Whistler, and the other was right here in the Fraser Valley when we had all that gorgeous snow for a couple of days! I love when I am able to combine boudoir with so many other ideas, and one of them is being able to create beautiful art out of human canvases outdoors. Snow boudoir has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long, long time, without having had the opportunity to do so.

There are at least 2 more snow boudoirs coming up this season, and I can’t wait! If you’d like to book for a Vancouver snow boudoir shoot, let me know! Without further ado, here are some sneak peeks of the last two I’ve done!

Boudoir Client Testimonial | Vancouver Boudoir Photography

As one of Vancouver’s premiere boudoir photographer, I pride myself in proving nervous clients wrong. Hee hee! I have many clients who come to me expressing that they are so nervous for their shoot, they practically almost didn’t show up! Time and time again, they are proven wrong almost the second they step into the studio. Kira is one of those clients.

Below is a beautiful testimonial she wrote for me of her experience. If you’re looking for a boudoir photographer who could meet your needs, whether you’re thin, average, or plus sized, do your research. I specialize in all types of women, from all backgrounds, in all shapes and sizes.

When my sister suggested that I do a boudoir photo shoot as a wedding gift for my fiance, I immediately said “NO”. I am a girl with curves, and even though my soon-to-be husband loves them, I wasn’t so sure about stripping down and having them captured on film. I did a lot of research prior to selecting my photographer and I found Helen. Her portfolio was beautiful!

I saw what she did with other curvy girls and thought to myself “why not?” I had so much fun the day of the shoot! I was nervous going in but Helen was so laid back and personable and I felt comfortable right away. During the shoot I felt gorgeous. I felt like a model. A superstar. I was almost sad when the shoot was over. That being said, I was still so nervous to see my photos. I had a lot of fun and all but could Helen work wonders with her camera? I brought a friend along for moral support and boy did I get it! Every single picture she took was amazing! I looked exactly how I felt that day. Radiant and beautiful. I can’t wait to give the album to my fiance on our wedding day. He is going to absolutely LOVE it!

Thank you Helen for giving me an experience I will never forget!

Playing Catch-Up | BC Boudoir Photography

Greetings, my beautiful people. I haven’t blogged here in a while with updates from recent shoots! Therefore, I’ve decided to simply give you a collage of a few recent shoots I’ve had. These ladies absolutely rocked their sessions, and I’m excited to show these to you! Some of these have not been posted on my facebook page, so these are new to everyone!

As you can see, I’m really into the whole big glamour tutu look right now. We’ve got a few different colored tutus in the studio right now, and they all look absolutely gorgeous. One day, my big studio theme will be to have ladies just roll around in a room full of tulle. Who’s with me on that one?!

A Testimonial to all the Couples | Vancouver Couple Boudoir Photography

This is a testimonial from the male counterpart of a recent couples boudoir shoot I did a couple of weeks ago. This moved me to tears. This is why I photograph. Thank you, Kevin, for these beautiful words to describe your experience of the photo shoot you did with your fiancee.

To those who say “No Way”…

I am convinced there are times when all of us who hesitate to stretch our experiences need a rather extreme example to create the conditions we are motivated to act.   It is my hope that my experience with Life After Dark will move at least one of the men among you to take part in one of the richest life moments you have ever had.

Like many of you, my throat immediately tightened when my fiancée asked if I would be “open” (pretty slick use of words don’t you think?) to doing a largely nude photo shoot with her and Helen from Life After Dark.   Now for the stretch part, I am 59 (almost 60) years old and my fiancé is… well significantly younger than I am!   So not only was it the taking my clothes off in front of a camera and Helen, it was doing all of that with a beautiful woman more than 2 decades my junior.   And no, I don’t do drugs!

I have landed on 3 primary reasons I embraced this experience and found it to be one of the most amazing things I have ever done:

Firstly, Helen is wonderful person with a great sense of humor and a constant smile that penetrates the room.  I live and work in a professional world and expect a lot from everything I do, Helen meticulously choreographed every single shot and immediately made me feel comfortable and focused.   Thank you for being an awesome person Helen!

Secondly, this snapshot of time in our relationship is not only important to me it is one I don’t want to ever forget.   With almost 6 decades under my belt I have experienced my own mortality and in fact can “see it from here!”   The photos from our session will always provide priceless memories, moments that no one can ever take away.   The word for you to “Google” is transcendental, these are the experiences of our lives we can’t explain but know as real from a place deep in our hearts.   There are no words.

Lastly and most importantly is the deepest source of motivation for moving through my fears of the session…love.   The boudoir shoot with Helen came alive the moment I looked into my fiance’s eyes knowing this is the person with whom I will share the rest of my life.  Any uncertainty I entered the session holding on to evaporated the moment our bodies came together.

Cover Contest Submission

I came across Chic Critique‘s latest cover contest, and decided to give one of my images a shot! I chose to enter Melissa’s photo from our sunrise photo shoot last summer. This image strikes me every time I see it, as the colors in the photo were all natural and not edited. I love the way the sun’s soft pink hues caress Melissa’s own smooth skin. It’s just gorgeous!
